The Heritage of Rai Bandhej and Khaddi Weaving
The creation of a Pure Khaddi Bandhani saree is a journey of months. This "dual-craft" saree is prized by connoisseurs for its complexity and the high level of skill required at every stage.
The Weaver’s Touch (Varanasi): The base is a Pure Khaddi Georgette, a fabric known for its slightly crinkled texture and beautiful fall. Unlike powerloom versions, our hand-woven Khaddi features real gold or silver tested Zari that retains its luster for generations.
The Tier’s Precision (Gujarat): Once woven, the fabric undergoes the Bandhani process. Artisans use the "Rai Bandhej" technique—where the knots are as tiny as mustard seeds (Rai). These knots act as a resist during the dyeing process, creating the iconic white and yellow speckled patterns once the ties are opened.
Vibrant Festive Palette: Because these sarees are Hand-Dyed, the colors achieve a depth that is impossible to replicate with machines. From traditional Gulaabi (Pink) and Rani to deep Marwari Red and Shyam Blue, each piece is a celebration of color.
Draping & Care:
To maintain the "crinkle" and the delicate Zari of your Khaddi Georgette, we recommend professional dry cleaning only. Store your saree by "refolding" it every few months to prevent the Zari from cracking along the fold lines.
