The Fine Craft of Hand-Embellished Sarees: Gota, Zardosi, and Aari
A Handwork saree is more than an outfit; it is a piece of art that takes days, sometimes weeks, to complete. Our collection focuses on authentic techniques that bring a unique 3D texture and brilliance to the fabric.
- Traditional Gota Patti Work: Originating from Jaipur, our Gota Patti sarees use high-quality metallic ribbons stitched onto the fabric to create Lappa and Phool motifs. This work is famous for being incredibly lightweight yet exceptionally royal in appearance.
- Intricate Hand-Embroidery: Beyond Gota, our artisans specialize in Aari work, Zardosi (metallic threadwork), and Dabka embroidery. These techniques are often paired with stones, pearls, and sequins to add a shimmering finish to our Bridal Handwork collection.
- Premium Fabrics for Every Drape: To ensure the heavy handwork sits perfectly, we use premium base fabrics like Pure Chinon, Moonga Silk, and Heavy Georgette. These fabrics provide the strength needed to hold intricate embroidery while ensuring a graceful drape.
Caring for Your Handwork Masterpiece
Due to the delicate nature of hand-applied embroidery and metallic Gota, we recommend dry clean only for these sarees. Store them wrapped in a soft muslin cloth to prevent the metallic threads from oxidizing or snagging on other fabrics.
